We are seeking an instructor for the FALL 2004 Entrepreneurship Training Course. Key Responsibilities: The Course Instructor plays a central role in implementing Start Up?s entrepreneurship training program, which is designed to meet the needs of Spanish speaking East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park entrepreneurs. In this role, the Course Instructor will:
* Collaborate with Start Up to prepare the class workbook and/or instructional materials that meet Start Up?s curriculum objectives, including homework assignments. * Create, give, and track completion of written homework assignments that enable students to draft sections of a business plan incrementally throughout the course, * Provide written evaluation feedback on the homework assignments (as much as possible, assignments should relate to and encourage students to use the business plan template provided by Start Up). * Use a multifaceted teaching methodology that accommodates a variety of learning styles (lectures are only appropriate for auditory learners), and encourages maximum individual participation. Along with lectures, each class session should include the use of: small group activities, question and answer sessions, visual aids (overheads, videos, etc.), individual presentations, and application exercises based on small business examples. * Be punctual to all class meetings and ensure that each class session begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. and ends at the scheduled time. Participates in the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's physical and relational databases.  Implements physical database design.  Participates in the development of data architectures and database management policies and standards.  Provides consulting services in the identification and resolution of database issues.  Participates in the planning, design, and usage of data resources.  Implements and maintains data dictionaries.  Participates in data modeling activities. Minimum qualifications: At least 4 years experience in Oracle Database Administration.(8i and 9i) Knowledge of Unix Operating Systems (Hp-UX) Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programming. Proficient in Oracle tools like OEM,SQL Navigator. Team Member Strong Verbal and written communication skill and a quick learner. Preferred Skills: Strong knowledge of  Relational Database design - Oracle 8i and 9i. Knowledge of   SQL and PL/SQL programming. Exposure to  UNIX Operating system and shell scripting. Knowledge  of Oracle utilities like Sqlloader, export, import and understanding of Oracle Standby/failure. Database and Query tuning and Capacity planning Good problem solving abilities Proven experience in supporting 24x7 databases Salary: MRP $83,000
